Located at the base of the Averyn Isle along the Silver Pass, it is heavily guarded by a powerful navy, as well as a homeguard that patrols the shores.
Mostly rolling interior plain surrounded by rugged hills and low mountains; sea cliffs on coasts. Averyn is cold to temperate; moderated by prevailing southwest winds from the north; more than one-half of the days are overcast. Summers are extremely mild and winters can be deadly. They receive a great amount of precipitation, though most of it is in the form of snow.
The southern city of Averyn, Astara is the farthest into the island that outsiders are allowed. Trespassers are killed on sight. Surrounded by a magical veil of mists, most don't get far enough to be blessed with a merciful arrow.
The city of Astara itself is a magical wonder of the living world. Whole living quarters have been built within magnificent white trees the size of skyscrapers. The glowing lights are from tempered magic that the Averynese Fey have come to use at will.

Gowns of silk, satin, and velvet of a variety of colors are highly sought after by ladies at court. Men often sport breeches and doublets in either leather, cotton or velvet. Fur often lines clothing for both men and women due to the cold temperatures and abundance of snow throughout the year.
Averyn celebrates all of the common Sylvernas holidays. A Midsummer Night's Eve and Wintermas are highly anticipated.
