    Codex Witch

    A codex witch is a powerful spellcaster, much like a sorceress. They possess a limited but unique spell list alongside powerful class features, making them a match for other casters. Like the sorcerer and wizard the witch also possess a familiar, however, unlike them her familiar is a large part of her power, as a result is also much more potent.


    Abilities: For codex witches charisma is paramount.

    Races: Witches can come from any races, although races with a charisma bonus typically make better witches.

    Alignment: Any neutral, chaotic, or evil.

    Class Features
    All of the following are class features of the codex witch.

    Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Codex witches are proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor of any type interferes with a sorcerer’s gestures, which can cause his spells with somatic components to fail.

    Spells: A codex witch cast arcane spells spontaneously like a sorcerer using her charisma to determine her bonus spell per day as well as the DCs of her spells. In order to recover she need to commune with her familiar for 4 hours, she may only do so once per day.

    A codex witch only knows so many spells. She starts knowing all her level 0 spell and 4 1st level spell. At 2nd level and each level thereafter she learn any 2 spell from any spell level she can cast. At 3rd level and every odd level thereafter the codex witch may switch one of her spell from another spell of the same level on her list. A codex witch draw her spell know from the list at the bottom.


    Witch's Familiar: A codex witch can summon a familiar as a wizard of her level + 2 (accessing more familiars early and getting better benefits). Unlike a wizard she does not need to spend any resources to summon a familiar and if it die she do not lose any experience and it return by itself in 24 hours.

    Radiation Magic (Su): At 1st level you may have your codex witch's spells affect up to double the number of targets they normally do as long as any additional targets are within normal range and of the same type as the original target (if your spell normally affects multiple targets, choose one to be treated as the original). In addition, any touch spells you cast may gain the benefits of the Reach Spell feat without a change in spell level or casting time.

    Improved Familiar: At 2nd level a codex witch gain the Improved Familiar feat as a bonus feat.

    Witch Ability: At 2nd level, 5th, and each 5 levels afterward a codex witch chooses one of the following witch abilities:

    - Animal Witch (Su): You and your familiar are always under the effect of speak with animals. If your familiar was unable to vocalize before it is now capable.

    - Brewing Hag (Ex): You gain Brew Potion as bonus feat even if you do not meet the prerequisites. You can ignore the spell requirement when brewing potion. Finally whenever you drink a potion, you may have your familiar benefits from that potion as well.

    - Come Hither (Su): Creatures who find you attractive (DM's call) take a -2 penalty on their saving throw against your [charm] or [compulsion] effect.

    - Dangerous Kiss (Su): Your kiss is dangerous, you may deal 1d2 + your charisma modifier in non-lethal damage to any creature you kiss. Kissing a unwilling creature require a touch attack. As a standard action you may even channel a touch spell through a kiss, the touch spell in question must have a casting of a standard action or lower (you may still deal damage with the kiss). At 3rd level you may blow your kiss, dealing half damage but usable at a range of 50 ft. (thus a ranged touch attack against unwilling creatures). At 6th level you may deal a single point of wisdom or charisma burn to any creature you directly kiss, this does not apply if you blow a kiss. At 9th level creatures you kiss must make a will save to realize they have been harmed by the kiss.

    - Foul Concoction (Ex): You and your familiar gain poison use as an assassin and the alchemical mastery feat as a bonus feat even if you do not meet the prerequisites. The DC of your ingested poison rise by 4.

    - Float like a Duck (Su): You and your familiar always float on any liquid, this does not allow you to walk on the surface of the liquid nor protect you from any ill effect of the liquid itself. You can suppress or resume this ability as a free action. Additionally as full-round action you can take the alternate form of a duck.

    - Flying Broom (Su): You may turn any normal broom you hold into a broom of flying. If you ever stop holding the broom it turn back into a normal broom immediately. You need to be at least level 10 to take this ability.

    - Hungry Fog (Su): When you cast a spell which leave fog or mist (such as fog cloud or obscuring mist) you may have it be hungry fog. All creatures (with the exception of you and your familiar) within hungry fog are dealt 1 point of damage that cannot be reudced or resisted in any way at the end of their turn and become sickened until the end of their next round. If hungry fog swallow a corpose it is completely consumed within 3 round, leaving only it equipment behind.

    - Humanoid Form (Su): Your familiar can take the Alternate Form of a small or medium humanoid creature. The particular form is chosen when this ability is taken and cannot be changed.

    - Star Gazer (Su): You gain the ability to divine the future using profession astronomy. Once per day while under a clear open night sky you may observe the stars for 1 hour and make a profession (astrology) check, based on the result you manage to reveal some insight of the future (see table below). For each additional hour you study the sky you gain a cumulative +10 bonus on your profession (astrology) check.

    - 20 Determine your fortune through the stars, gain guidance as a free action, usable 1/day.
    - 25 Divine information from the heavens, duplicating the effects of augury 1/day.
    - 35 Manipulate fate in your favor, granting yourself a +1 luck bonus to saves for 24 hours.
    - 40 Divine information from the heavens, duplicating the effects of divination 1/day.
    - 45 Manipulate fate in your favor, granting yourself a +2 luck bonus to saves for 24 hours.
    - 50 Divine information from the heavens, duplicating the effects of commune 1/day.

    Advanced Learning: At 3rd level and each 3 levels afterward the codex witch add a single spell of a level she can cast from the sorcerer/wizard to her spell known.

    Evil Cackle (Su): Three times per day, the Witch may emit a cackling laugh as a Standard Action. One target per level who can hear this must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + ½ the Witch's HD + the Witch's Charisma modifier) or immediately contract Cackle Fever and instantly take 3d6 Wisdom damage.

    Dread Magic (Su): A 4th level codex witch is capable of affecting creatures immune to fear-effect and mind-affecting effect with her fear spells, although such creatures gain a +4 bonus on their will saving throw. If you already possess a similar ability or later possess it creature who are normally immune no longer receive any save bonus.

    Superior Familiar: At 4th level a codex witch gain the Superior Familiar feat as a bonus feat.

    Hexing Doll Maker: At 5th level you gain the Hexing Doll Maker feat as a bonus feat even if you do not meet the prerequisites.

    Enduring Curses (Su): A 6th level codex witch's curses are harder to break, after a successful attempt to end any of her spells with remove curse and break enchantment (or similar effect) the caster must win an opposed caster level check. If the check fails, the curse comes back at full strength in 24 hours.

    Familiar Telepathy (Su): At 7th level the codex witch gain telepathy 100 feet with her familiar.

    Evil Eye (Su): A 8th level codex witch is capable of daze a single creature as a standard action. The targeted creature is allowed a will saving throw or become dazed for 1 round. This is a gaze attack, although it only target a single creature it otherwise follow all of the normal rule of a gaze attack.

    Familiar Spell: At 11th and 19th level the codex witch receive the familiar spell feat as a bonus feat even if she does not meet the prerequisite. These feats do not count as epic feat for her and do increase the prerequisite of the actual feat.
